“We wanted a big party full of colour. We were very inspired by the photographer Tim Walker and his famous shoots filled with balloons. The ’80s peaches and cream colour palette started as a joke, but I was determined to make it look cool!
Nether Burrows Farm was the first reception venue we saw. We wanted somewhere we could stay for the week and have creative licence over. The cottages slept fifty people and the rest of the guests stayed in luxury tents. My friend, celebrity facialist Nichola Joss, set up beauty rooms on-site where people could have treatments before the wedding.
I made the dress myself. There were 17 meters of fabric in the skirt alone!
The pageboys were dressed as magical owls. They wanted to go as batman, so I promised they could be a Harry Potter character instead.
Each area was fragranced with a different candle. We sprayed the bridesmaids’ tutus with perfume so they carried the scent down the aisle.
My personal trainer recommended my caterer. They made the most delicious salads for the day which we served with a hog roast.
My top tip: Don’t think you can do it all by yourself. The real pleasure was having family and friends muck in.”
